Mackinaw Properties approached us with a request for a new logo and website for their newest vacation rental property Somewhere in Time Cottage. Located in Mackinaw City, Somewhere in Time is one of the oldest homes in the downtown area and has recently undergone a complete renovation. The client wanted their brand to evoke the essence of the classic Hollywood-era movie, Somewhere in Time, which was filmed on Mackinac Island. Specifically, they wanted their logo and website design to capture the romantic and elegant atmosphere of the movie, while also showcasing the historic charm of the region. Branding Design

The client wanted their brand to evoke the essence of the romantic new wave film, Somewhere in Time (1980), which was filmed on Mackinac Island. Specifically, they wanted their logo and website design to capture the romantic and elegant atmosphere of the movie, while also showcasing the historic charm of the region. Our team TripHitz was excited to take on this project and help bring the client's vision to life.

Web Design

We started with a blank page and chose the font EB Garamond because it strikes a perfect balance between. The colors of Somewhere in Time were used throughout the site, and every image is rounded to allude to the old-style portraits of an era gone by. The site also features subtle quotes from the movie as headings throughout, creating a charming and cohesive design that perfectly reflects the client's vision for their new vacation rental.
